What’s been happening:

Had my degree mailed to me (did not attend graduation ceremonies). Went immediately to California to work for Sequoia Forest Industries at a lumber camp in King's Canyon National Park. Was promised a job in Spring 1975 in my hometown of Erie, Pa., at Hammermill Paper Co. That fell through, I returned to work in the construction field at Mayer Bros. Const. where I worked for all but 1 1/2 years from 1975- 2008 when I retired in January. I married my high school sweetheart, Nancy Armstrong, August 22, 1982. We remained married until she died of cancer March 19, 2007. We are blessed to have 2 sons, Phil who was born in 1983, and Martin who was born in 1986. Phil works at my old place of work, Mayer Bros., as a laborer. Martin recently returned from Iraq, he is a sergeant in the Army Reserves. He is to be not deployed for at least a year, and is resuming his education at Penn State Behrend in Fall 2009, where he will pursue a degree in nursing. He is a combat medic while working as a soldier. Phil will be having his first child, a daughter, in June 2009. I have begun dating recently and am quite fond of my new companion, April. I fill my time gardening, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and working around the house as well as doing odd jobs for friends to keep busy. I often recall my years at Penn State as some of the best of my life and still follow football and wrestling.
